MAYS LANDING - A juror in the vehicular homicide trial of William Simkins has admitted that he was reading The Press of Atlantic City during the trial.

The juror's testimony is being given with limited immunity.

Simkins, 33, is seeking  a new trial based on allegations the juror read The Press' coverage of the trial.

Simkins was acquitted of vehicular homicide in the death of Jacob Broschard Sept. 6, 2010, but jurors convicted him of leaving the scene of a fatal crash, which carries a sentence of 5 to 10 years.
