Art film in Millville among the events to enjoy At The Shore Today

Art film in Millville

What Is It: "Civilisation: A Personal View by Kenneth Clark" is a U.K. television documentary that aired in 1970 in the U.S. that outlines the history of Western architecture, art and philosophy since the Dark Ages. Program four of the 13-part series will be shown tonight in Millville.

What To Expect: The fourth part of the series is titled "Man - the Measure of all Things." Art historian Kenneth Clark visits Florence, Italy, where he argues European thought gained a new impetus from its rediscovery of its classical past. Clark also visits the palaces at Urbino and Mantua, both also in Italy, and other centers of Renaissance civilisation. The screening is part of the film series Tuesdays with Tricia Dufford, above.
