Main Event
The Island Singers in Stafford Township
What Is It: The Island Singers is a volunteer chorus from southern Ocean County that's known for performing Broadway hits and popular tunes. The group has been under the guidance of Polly Moore since 1986. Moore has participated in the Garden State Symphony Chorus and the New Jersey Chamber Singers. Choral members range in age from 17 to 80, and the group makes many free appearances such as this one.
What To Expect: There is no formal audition for people interested in joining the Island Singers, so anyone with a pleasant voice can sing choral music with the group. That atmosphere and a love for music have defined the group's purpose and mission for decades.
Event Info: The concert takes place at the Stafford Township Arts Center, 1000 McKinley Blvd., Stafford Township. For more information, call 609-489-8600 or visit www.njstac.com
