All-American Rejects at House of Blues
Who Are They: A four-piece Oklahoma-based band formed in 1999, All-American Rejects, above, came about while some of the members were still in high school. Their self-titled debut CD helped propel the group to a deal with Interscope Records. Taking Back Sunday is an emo band from Amityville, N.Y., whose 2002 debut album set the stage for the group's launch into mainstream rock. Anberlin, the opening act, is an alternative-rock band that formed in 2002 in Winter Haven, Fla.
What To Expect: All-American Rejects performed in May in California. Their setlist included their Top-10 pop hits "Dirty Little Secret," "It Ends Tonight" and "Gives You Hell." Taking Back Sunday played in August in Holmdel, Monmouth County. The songs included "Liar (It Takes One to Know One"), "Cute Without the 'E' (Cut From the Team)" and "What's It Feel Like to be a Ghost?" Anberlin entertained in August in Australia. The tunes they played included "The Resistance," "Breaking" and "Feel Good Drag" from their newest CD.
