Musical tribute to Shakespeare
What Is It: The Rowan University Orchestra, along with Rowan's women chorus, pays tribute to William Shakespeare with a program of music inspired by the playwright's work.
What To Expect: Salvatore Scarpa will conduct the concert featuring Felix Mendelssohn's work associated with "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Also, expect to hear William Walton's "A Shakespeare Suite," music written for the film "Richard III" and Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet Overture."
Event Info: The free concert will be held 8 tonight in the university's Pfleeger Concert Hall, located in Wilson Hall on the Rowan campus in Glassboro. For more information, call 856-256-4545 or visit www.rowan.edu
