Ska bands at the House of Blues

Who Are They: Formed in the late 1970s in Birmingham, England, The English Beat became one of the most influential ska revivalist groups. Reel Big Fish, a southern California-based ska-punk band, is on the same bill.

What To Expect: The groups played earlier this month in Milwaukee, Wis. The English Beat performed songs that included "Mirror In The Bathroom," "Hands Off ... She's Mine," "Save It For Later" and "Twist And Crawl." The band's original guitarist and bassist, Andy Cox and David Steele, respectively, are not a part of this touring group. The Reel Big Fish's set list from the same show included their tunes, "She Has a Girlfriend Now," "Take On Me" and "Sell Out."

'Grease' in Margate

Who Are They: The Margate Players are a community theater group at the Margate Performing Arts Center. They put on a variety of musical shows and plays throughout the year.

What To Expect: "Grease," by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, is the all-American musical, based on the sub-cultures of high school life in the 1950s. The musical, set at the fictional Rydell High School, follows 10 working-class teens as they navigate the complexities of cars, drive-ins and love. The lead characters are Danny, the popular hot shot at school, and Sandy, the virgin do-goody.

Show Info: Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. today, Saturday and July 16 to 18 at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Margate Performing Arts Center, Monmouth and Frontenac avenues, Margate.
