'The Photographer: Into War-Torn Afghanistan with Doctors Without Borders'
Afghanistan's troubled present is merely another chapter in its war-ridden history. The medical aid organization Doctors Without Borders ran covert aid missions into the country following the Soviet invasion in 1979.
Now, a photographer who followed those missions has teamed with a graphic artist to illustrate - with shots and sketches - scenes from the country at that time.
The combination results in a vivid and thought-provoking book, released in May.
The book is available for $29.95 at Amazon.com)
