'Thriller' gone?

A planned stage adaptation of Michael Jackson's 1983 "Thriller" music video is in limbo after the pop star's untimely death.

In January, the Los Angeles Times reported that the Nederlander Organization acquired the rights to produce a musical version of "Thriller" with the intention of involving Jackson in "every aspect of the creative process." The stage adaptation was to include songs from two of his albums, 1982's "Thriller" and 1979's "Off the Wall."

Now plans for the show appear to be up in the air. Nederlander was set to produce the stage musical, but no cast or creative team had been announced.

Jackson interview

A 1977 interview with Michael Jackson and his brothers will air on Ed Hurst's "Steel Pier Radio Show" at 11 a.m. today on WIBG-AM 1020. The intereview can also be streamed live at www.WIBG.com.

The Jacksons came to Philadelphia in the summer of 1977 to record a new album, "Goin' Places," at Sigma Sound Studio with legendary songwriters Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff.

"It was one of the best interviews I ever did in over 62 years on the air," Hurst said. "This interview occurred in 1977, just before Michael Jackson was set to explode on the scene as the biggest solo artist in history."

Segments of the show, which also features a medley of Michael Jackson's greatest hits, will be replayed several times during the week with a complete rebroadcast at 5 p.m. Friday.
