Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival
What Is It: This fifth annual event features a stable of celebrity chefs and a long list of events focused on eating and drinking. The Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival runs through Sunday at four Caesars Entertainment casino properties around town.
What To Expect: Despite the name, they don't just have food and wine at this festival. They also have beer and music at this afternoon's "Blues, Brews & BBQ" at the House of Blues at Showboat. The Grand Market, the festival's favorite event, runs noon to 4 p.m. today and Sunday at Bally's Atlantic City, it costs $55 and promises to be "your indulgence highlight of the year." There are guest appearances by Atlantic City chef turned international superstar Robert Irvine, above right, plus TV-foodie favorites Rocco Dispirito and Pat and Gina Neely, above, left, - including a 3-hour, $75, nighttime beach party featuring all the above. That starts 10 p.m. today on the sand at Caesars Atlantic City.
Event Info: The Food and Wine Festival continues today through Sunday at Caesars, Bally's, Showboat and Harrah's Resort. For complete schedule and prices of all events, see caesars.com/acfoodandwine.
Artisans Guild Craft Show in Ocean City
What Is It: If a football field full of arts and crafts sounds like heaven to you, then Ocean City is the place for you to be today. But the local high school's Carey Stadium can't even hold everything that's available at the annual Artisans Guild Craft Show, so the show also spills over into the nearby Sports and Civic Center.
What To Expect: The specialties in this craft show range from shell art to hand-crafted chairs to handmade concrete items to photographs to gourmet food specialties to matching dresses for dolls and their owners. The featured artist is Diana Hydock of Freeland, Pa. whose subjects include shore scenes, animals, flowers and garden sculptures..
Event Info: The Artisans Guild Craft Show runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Carey Stadium and the Sports and Civic Center, off the Boardwalk near 6th Street in Ocean City. The $3 admission fee benefits local charities. For more details, see oceancitycraftshows.com or call 609-399-9998.
