At The Shore Today: Classical music with 'A Touch of Italy' at Stockton


The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble performs a concert with some old world selections added to give it just "A Touch of Italy" tonight in the Performing Arts Center at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Galloway Township.

"Trieste Overture," "An Italian in Algiers" and "The Barber of Seville Overture" will be the opening selections for the concert. Forty-five of the area's best high school and college student musicians join the ensemble for the second half and present such Italian favorites as "Carnival of Venice" with guest euphonium soloist John Palatucci, and Italian Rhapsody, which includes "The Wedding Tarantella," "Caderna March" and "The Anvil Chorus."
