A Palestinian film, “Five Broken Cameras” will be shown tonight in Cape May Court House.

The first-ever Palestinian film to be nominated for best documentary feature by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, “Five Broken Cameras” is a deeply personal, firsthand account of life in a West Bank village surrounded by Israeli settlements. Shot by a Palestinian farmer Emad Burnat, who bought his first camera in 2005 to record the birth of his youngest son, the film was co-directed by Burnat and Guy Davidi, an Israeli filmmaker. The filmmakers’ collaboration follows one family’s evolution over five years of village upheaval.

If You Go: “Five Broken Cameras” will be shown at 7 tonight in the Middle Township Performing Arts Center, 212 Bayberry Drive, Cape May Court House. Admission is $8. For more information or tickets, call 609-463-1924 or visit
