‘Seal Day’ at Stranding Center

Seals are always important players at Brigantine’s Marine Mammal Stranding Center. The nonprofit group says it has rescued about a dozen stranded creatures so far this year, and all are seals of various types. So that brings us to Seal Day today at the Stranding Center, a chance for you and your kids to learn much more about these animals while you’re having fun, too — and to help all the seals the MMSC rescues. Seal Day is free and includes guided tours of the center, educational demonstrations, arts and crafts — and a chance to get your picture taken with the center’s animated mascot, named Lu-seal, of course.

If You Go: Seal Day runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the MMSC, 3625 Brigantine Blvd., Brigantine. Free, but donations are welcome. For more details, see the MMSC on facebook or call 609-266-0538.
