'Warm Hearted Country' at Barnegat's Library
The Warm Hearted Country band plays old-fashioned country music, everything from Loretta Lynn to Johnny Cash to Waylon Jennings to Bill Monroe, the father of bluegrass. But Warm Hearted - founded in 2003 by the mother-daughter team of Alice and Laurie Dorisio - also throws in some crossover and non-country tunes from Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, The Beatles and The Drifters. You can catch all that Warm Hearted music in a free show this afternoon at the Ocean County Library's Barnegat Branch. You'll see why Warm Hearted Country earns that name, but isn't limited by it.
If You Go: Showtime is 1 p.m. at Ocean County Library's Barnegat branch, 112 Burr St., Barnegat Township. Free. For more details, see TheOceanCountyLibrary.org or HouseofBluegrass-CountryOldies.com or call 609-698-3331.
