Noted local poets do reading, signing at A.C. library

April is National Poetry Month, and the celebration of that event doesn't end until the very end of this month at the Atlantic City Free Public Library. Because the main branch of the library hosts two poets with close ties to the town tonight for a tag-team poetry reading and book-signing. The guests of honor are Peter Murphy, right, and Karen Zaborowski Duffy, both former Atlantic City High School teachers, who will read some of their favorite poems and then sign copies of their work. Murphy is the author of "Stubborn Child," a finalist for the 2006 Paterson Poetry Prize and a winner of the 2009 Poetry Fellowship from the New Jersey Council on the Arts. Duffy has won two state poetry-writing fellowships, is a poetry consultant for the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and has won numerous other prizes. Her poem, "World Series, Game 5," was featured on The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer in 2007.

If You Go: The reading starts 6 p.m. at the Atlantic City Free Public Library, 1 N. Tennessee Ave. The event is free. For more details, call 609-345-2269, ext. 3077 or see
