Atlantic City residents and visitors can catch up on some recent movies this summer, while enjoying them outdoors.

Now in its seventh summer, movie series provides free screenings at three locations: Bartram Place & Boardwalk, Brighton Park and Gardner’s Basin. The series runs until Aug. 31. The oldest picture is the animated Pixar film “Ratatouille” from 2007. The newest is “Cinderella,” from March, starring Lily James and Cate Blanchett.

All movies are rated G or PG with the exception of the PG-13 rated: “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Diver-gent,” “The Expendables 3” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1.”

The series originated under the Atlantic City Special Improvement District, which is now part of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. The series is not much of an expense because the city already had all the equipment, said David Zuba, CRDA publicist. Events are staffed by the city’s ambassadors.

“It’s a great nongaming attraction that is very popular with the residents, especially the residents, people with families ... and visitors as well,” Zuba said.

The summer of 2015 will be one of the most exciting this community will have had in too long…
