Auto racing in Boardwalk Hall

What Is It: The annual Gambler's Classic brings small, fast cars into a small, fast track in Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall for races tonight and Saturday. That track can get crowded, with at least 24 cars - or go-karts or other mini-machines - hitting speeds as high as 70 mph.

What To Expect: Unlike NASCAR races, which can have tracks 2 miles long and vast crowds spread out much of that way, indoor racing is fan-friendly. Drivers say they can do laps in seconds, so the audience is right on top of all the action.

Event Info: Race time is 7 p.m. today in Boardwalk Hall, 2301 Boardwalk, Atlantic City. Tickets range from $15 to $30; or $5 for kids 12 and younger. For details, see aarn.com or call 609-348-7000.

Mid-Winter Antiques Show at Millville's Wheaton Arts

What Is It: The Mid-Winter Antiques Show starts a two-day run this morning at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center in Millville. Wheaton Arts may specialize in glass, but it has a long list of vendors at this show, and the items they'll sell range from books to furniture to jewelry to linens to memorabilia, and more.

What To Expect: Of course, an event at Wheaton Arts also will offer plenty of collectible glass and ceramics - and many more specialties by the 40 dealers on hand. And while you're there, make sure to check out Wheaton's Museum of American Glass, plus the museum's own store.

Event Info: The Mid-Winter Antiques Show runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center, 1501 Glasstown Road, Millville. Tickets are $5 and include free admission to the glass museum. For more details, see wheatonarts.org or call 856-825-6800.

'Seussical' on stage at Stockton

What Is It: If you're looking to get the kids away from the cartoons this morning, here's a way that should make them happy about the change. Theatreworks USA brings its version of "Seussical" - yes, that's a musical based on Dr. Seuss - to the Performing Arts Center at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

What To Expect: You know all the classic Seuss characters, and you may know which books they came from. But you can forget that in this musical, which is hosted by the Cat in the Hat and mixes together Dr. Seuss' creations faster and more imaginatively than you can say Sam I Am.

Event Info: Showtime is 10:30 a.m. in the Stockton PAC, on Jimmie Leeds Road in Galloway Township. Tickets are $6 and $8, available at the box office. For more details, see stockton.edu/pac, or call 609-652-9000.

Martin Sexton in Vineland

Who Is He: Folk-rocker Martin Sexton has played with musical notables ranging from Jackson Browne to Art Garfunkel, but he's the main man in a show tonight, hosted by the Landis Theater and sponsored by Appel Farm. Sexton, who has been honored as the National Academy of Songwriters' artist of the year, tops a bill that also includes a guest appearance by the Alternate Routes.

What To Expect: Along with his songs, Sexton is known for the quality of his guitar-playing and of his live performances. The Alternate Routes, also known as Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly, have released three albums of music that can run from tear-jerking ballads to in-your-face rockers to campfire-style singalongs.

Event Info: Showtime is 8 p.m. at the Landis Theater, 830 E. Landis Ave., Vineland. Tickets are $27.50 to $40. Visit landistheater.com for more details, or call 856-691-1121.
