Sarah Silverman stands up at Borgata
Who Is She: Sarah Silverman is seriously funny. If you don't believe it, go check out her act yourself tonight in the Music Box at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
What To Expect: Be warned - this comic's act isn't exactly family friendly. As she showed in her live film, "Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic," and sometimes in her Comedy Central TV show, almost everything is comedy fodder for her, from sex to religion to racism and beyond. Way, way beyond.
Event Info: Showtime is 9 tonight at Borgata's Music Box, 1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City. Tickets are $49.50 and $55. For more details, see theborgata.com.
The Amazing Kreskin at Millville's Levoy
Who Is He: The Amazing Kreskin has been playing tricks with people's minds, including his own, for close to 50 years. He shows his abilities as a mentalist again tonight at the Levoy Theatre in Millville.
What To Expect: If you go to a Kreskin show, you well might become part of the show, since "Kreskin seeks to reveal the thoughts of audience members, plant suggestions in fully aware subjects and dazzle with feats of extraordinary mental projections," the producers say. At the Levoy, the star also promises to lead the crowd in a search for ghosts rumored to live in the historic theater.
Event Info: Showtime is 7:30 p.m. at the Levoy Theatre, 126-130 N. High St., Millville. Tickets are $20 and $25, with military discounts available. For more details, call 856-327-6400 or see levoy.net
'Sensational' show in Wildwood
What Is It: Tommy James & The Shondells were hit machines in the 1960s and '70s, and so were the guys from Three Dog Night. Tonight, Three Dog Night's singer Chuck Negron and Tommy James & The Shondells top the bill at the Sensational Spring Concert Weekend at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
What To Expect: "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Mony Mony" are just a couple of the Tommy James pop classics still being played almost 50 years after they were made. And Negron's singing on "Joy To The World" is still bringing joy to his world - maybe even to the fishes in the deep blue sea - decades after he recorded it and other classics that hit No. 1 on the charts. Tonight's lineup also includes The Happenings.
Event Info: Showtime is 7 p.m today in the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood. Tickets are $49.50 for stadium seats or $65.50 for floor seats. For tickets or more details, see GWCOC.com or call 609-729-4000.
Bayfest takes over
Somers Point's bayfront
What Is It: Bayfest is celebrating a birthday today. It has been 25 years since the spring festival, which now spreads out along 14 blocks of Bay Avenue, began. And in those years, this event has grown so much the organizers say it's now the biggest one-day festival in South Jersey.
What To Expect: If the weather cooperates, Bayfest usually draws crowds of close to 40,000, so don't be surprised to see a sea of bodies along Bay Avenue. Look for live bands on four stages, about 50 food vendors selling something for every taste and 120 or so crafts booths - plus 15 separate kids' activities.
Event Info: The event is free. Festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m today, rain or shine. Free, accessible shuttles run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to and from parking lots at Jordan Road School, 129 Jordan Rd., and Fire House No. 1, at 1 Bethel Rd., both in Somers Point. For more details, call
