Coppola
wine dinner
What wine goes best with meatballs? Why, Coppola Claret, of course. The "Godfather" director himself, Francis Ford Coppola, says so. And he's having some brought in from his winery in California just to show you.
Carmine's, located in the Quarter at Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, is hosting a tasting event Thursday night to introduce Coppola wines - which the director actually produces.
The light, unoaked chardonnay is paired with Carmine's baked clams, while the vibrant Votre Sante Pinot Noir calls for a fresh tomato and prosciutto amuse-bouche. And only Chicken Marsala with mushrooms stands up to the spicy, full-bodied Director's Cut Cinema Blend.
The event runs 5 to
7 p.m. Thursday in the bar at Carmine's. Tickets cost $15. Call 609-572-9300 or email reservations@
