Crab festival in Wildwood
What Is It: The second annual New Jersey State Crab Festival has all kinds of crabs on its menu - not just the ones you eat. The festival, hosted at the Ice House Restaurant, includes everything from crab races to crab-flavored cocktails, from the bar.
What To Expect: Sure, you can get the local blue-claw crabs: This festival is built around them, and they'll be cooked to order all day at the outdoor block party. But the drinks list features "crabby Bloody Marys" and a beer garden, the entertainment includes those crab races, face-painting and balloon sculptors for kids, and everybody can enjoy Parrotbeach, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band.
Event Info: The festival runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Ice House, 4415 Park Blvd., Wildwood. Admission is free, but food, drinks and crafts are for sale. For more details, call 609-522-0033 or see njcrabfestivalicehouse.com
Bay-Atlantic Symphony in Avalon
What Is It: The Avalon Elementary School hosts this summer's first "Symphony by the Sea" concert tonight, featuring the Bay-Atlantic Symphony playing romantic pieces by two legendary conductors.
What To Expect: The program - called "Russian to the Finnish!" - features the music of Russia's Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Finland's Jean Sibelius. The music opens with Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet Overture - Fantasy," the composer's interpretation of Shakespeare's classic tale; and includes Sibelius' "Kariela Suite" and his "Violin Concerto in D minor." The next concert in the series is Aug. 18.
Event Info: Showtime is 7 p.m. Tickets are free and available at the Avalon Free Public Library, 235 32nd St., which is attached to the elementary school. All seating is first-come, first served. For more details, call the library at 609-967-7155 or visit avalonfreelibrary.org. For more information on the orchestra, call 856-451-1169 or see
Robin Thicke at Harrah's

What To Expect: Thicke, the son of TV star Alan Thicke, has a string of hit records to his credit. Look for him to play some of his big-selling songs, including "Lost Without U," "The Sweetest Love" and "Sex Therapy," plus some of the tunes from his earlier releases.
Event Info: Showtime is 9 p.m. today in the Concert Venue at Harrah's Atlantic City, 777 Harrah's Blvd. Tickets are $39 to $69. For more details, see harrahsresort.com
