When you think of a diner, you probably don’t envision limited release craft beers, an award-winning wine list and a gourmet food menu made to order.
Well, the Shore Diner isn’t your typical diner.
“We raise the bar and do things differently,” says general manger George Stratis, the son of owner Sprios Stratis.
Located on Tilton Road in Egg Harbor Township, Shore Diner offers a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu similar to — but better than — any average diner, with daily specials, an in-house professional pastry chef and a menu made to order.
But that’s just the start.
The Shore Diner also has a liquor license, which allows it to offer customers an ever-changing selection of seasonal and limited release crafts beers, an award-winning wine list that has been hand chosen by its staff to compliment its cuisine and a selection of high-quality cigars, which are housed in a humidor to preserve its flavor.
When asked to name some of the special offerings in terms of the craft beers and wines, Stratis responded, “How much time do you have?”
The Shore Diner is also the only diner in the country that has won a Wine Spectator’s award, which is something its employees are particularly proud of, and it keeps getting better.
Recently, the diner started offering gourmets coffees, lattes and cappuccinos, which Stratis promised are better than both Starbucks and Wawa.
“We look to saw how the market is doing and what’s trendy,” he says. “People are interested in trying new things and we like trying new things. We’re not just a diner.”
