New Orleans jazz in Somers Point

It's almost Mardi Gras, which makes this a perfect weekend to get a taste of New Orleans. And you can get that taste in more ways than one tonight at Gregory's Restaurant and Bar in Somers Point. The Atlantic City Jazz Band brings its old-school sound of "New Orleans traditional music" to Gregory's, in the description of Nick Regine, from the Somers Point Jazz Society, a co-sponsor of the show. Plus Gregory's is using the music to kick off its Cajun Festival, which starts tonight, runs through March 9 and includes a special New Orleans menu - and yet another Mardi Gras party Tuesday night, on this year's actual Fat Tuesday.

If You Go: The event is free. Music starts 8:30 p.m. at Gregory's Restaurant & Bar, 900 Shore Rd., Somers Point. For more details, call 609-927-6677 or 609-927-6665.
