Hip-Hop in A.C.

Who Are They: The second annual All Stars of Hip-Hop show features Salt-n-Pepa, DMX, Doug E. Fresh, Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee and Shock G., the founder and leader of Digital Underground. The concert will be held tonight in the arena at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City.

What To Expect: This show is for fans of 1980s and 1990s hip-hop. Salt-n-Pepa is the best-selling female rap act of all time. DMX is one of the best-selling rappers in history with 30 million albums sold worldwide. Doug E. Fresh was a pioneering rapper known as "the Human Beat Box" for his ability to emulate drum machines and other effects. Kool Moe Dee is famous for his complex, articulate rhymes, wrap-around shades and long-standing feud with L.L. Cool J. Digital Underground scored a hit with the song "The Humpty Dance" in 1990.

Polar bear plunge in Wildwood

What Is It: The 2013 Polar Bear Plunge takes place at 1 p.m. today on the beach behind the Wildwoods Convention Center.

What To Expect: Immediately following the Plunge, participants can enjoy a free lunch inside the warm Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood. There will be a special recognition for the person who raises the most money. Plungers must raise $100 in pledges to participate in the event. The New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run is sponsoring the Wildwoods Polar Bear Plunge. The Plunge is a family-friendly event benefitting more than 22,000 athletes of the Special Olympics New Jersey.

Storytelling in Port Norris

What Is It: The Bayshore Discovery Project hosts a storytelling session on the businesses, houses and characters of Bivalve from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Bivalve Shipping Sheds in Port Norris.

What To Expect: Residents and visitors are invited to come and share a story, anecdote or recollection about Bivalve from their lifetime. They can tell a story from their families or come listen and learn. It is hoped participants will add to what's known about Bivalve and help fill in some of the blanks. The information collected will be used for exhibits, research and education purposes as part of the Delaware Bay Museum and Folklife Center. This event will be recorded as part of Bayshore Discovery Project's oral history project.
