Music and fireworks in Avalon

What Is It: Bay-Atlantic Symphony will be presenting a concert tonight inside Avalon Community Hall. After the concert, Avalon presents one of the largest fireworks displays along the state's coastline at about 9:15 p.m. at the 30th Street beach.

What to Expect: The sixth summer of Avalon performances by Bay-Atlantic Symphony starts tonight with a program titled "Quest and Delights of Freedom." The concert is an all-American patriotic celebration of our country. The program will include "The Star Spangled Banner," John Philip Sousa's "Washington Post March" and "Stars and Stripes Forever," Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" and five Leroy Anderson favorites - "Syncopated Clock," "Promenade," "Blue Tango," "Waltzing Cat" and "Sleigh Ride."

Event Info: "Quest and Delights of Freedom" begins 7 tonight in the community hall at 30th Street and the beach. The concert and fireworks are free and open to the public. No tickets are needed for the concert, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit avalonboro.org
