'Elephants for Autism'

musical benefit in A.C.

What Is It: Think of this oddly named creation as a three-day music festival featuring more than 100 bands playing on four stages. And all that activity at Elephants for Autism is a fundraiser for a music school that focuses its lessons on autistic kids.

What To Expect: Look for a range of musical styles - festival founder Jerry Ryan, of Galloway Township, says he expects close to 125 different bands to appear from today through Sunday. Ryan, who also runs Elephant Talk Indie Music Magazine and is the father of a 10-year-old, piano-playing autistic son, has stages inside and outside at two spots in Atlantic City, The Boneyard Bar & Grill and Le Grand Fromage.

Event Info: Admission is $10 per day. Elephants for Autism starts 5 p.m. today at the Boneyard, 20 S. Virginia Ave., and 6 p.m. at Le Grand Fromage, 25 Gordons Alley. Both venues go until 2 a.m. Hours vary through the weekend. All proceeds go to the Music Academy for Special Learners in Long Island, N.Y. For more details, call 609-214-5210.

'Diva Bingo' benefit at Resorts

What Is It: The annual Ladies Invitational Bluefish Tournament sponsors "Diva Bingo" tonight at Resorts Casino Hotel. The fishing tournament and tonight's bingo games both benefit the cause of providing free mammograms to women who need them.

What To Expect: "Diva Bingo" features the drag-dressing cast of "Divas Do AC," the revue show playing at Resorts, and starring such famous, fabulous divas as Dolly Parton, above, Joan Rivers and Liza Minelli. And the actors who play those stars will entertain during the bingo games, but the crowd is welcome to get in on the act too - the sponsors say that "outrageous outfits (are) encouraged."

Event Info: Donation is $10 and benefits AtlantiCare's Mobile Mammography Assistance Fund. Registration starts 7 p.m. and the games begin at 8 in Resorts' Superstar Theater, 1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City. For more details, see FishLIBT.com

'Barefoot in the Park' in Atlantic City

What Is It: "Barefoot in the Park" is a lark of a show by Neil Simon. It continues its barefoot run this weekend at historic Dante Hall Theater in Atlantic City.

What To Expect: "Barefoot" joins together in marriage a conservative lawyer of a husband, played by Patrick Judd, and a free-spirited wife, played by Courtney Paige (above with Judd), who feels the need to stay young by running without shoes through New York's Central Park. OK, maybe it sounds strange, but there's a reason why it was one of the longest-running non-musicals in Broadway history.

Event Info: Showtimes are 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Richard Stockton College's Dante Hall Theater, 14 N. Mississippi Ave., Atlantic City. Tickets are $20, or $18 for seniors and Stockton students. For more details, see stockton.edu/dantehall

Martin & Lewis

at Middle Township PAC

What Is It: Dean Martin, a key member of the legendary Rat Pack, is hot these days, again. His daughter, Deana, is bringing her act to Atlantic City later this month. Dean is the subject of a musical, called "DINO!" playing in Philadelphia. And the smooth-singing, hard-drinking Dino is reunited with his old running partner, Jerry Lewis, in a tribute show tonight and Saturday in Cape May Court House called "Martin & Lewis: The Music, the Laughter ... the Love."

What To Expect: This is a project by Tony Lewis, an Australian who has starred there in a one-man show on Jerry Lewis - no relation - and Tom Stevens, a Las Vegas showroom veteran who includes the great Dino in his stable of impressions. The two try to bring the magic of the classic duo back to life in this show.

Event Info: All tickets are $25. Showtime is

7:30 p.m. today and Saturday. The Middle Township PAC is at 212 Bayberry Dr., Cape May Court House. For more details, call 609-463-1924.
