Anthony Hamilton

at House of Blues

What Is It: Rythym and blues singer Anthony Hamilton made his first big splash in 2003 with a release called "Comin' From Where I'm From," and he got some fresh notice last year by contributing a song to Quentin Tarrantino's hit movie, "Django Unchained." Hamilton brings his act tonight to the House of Blues in Atlantic City.

What To Expect: Look for Hamilton, a native of Charlotte, N.C. to show off the tunes that made his name, including that title track from his first big record plus its other big number, "Charlene." But he has much more material, including "Freedom," which he co-wrote and sang in "Django Unchained."

Event Info: Tickets are $55 to $75. Showtime is 8 p.m. today at House of Blues in the Showboat Casino Hotel,

801 Boardwalk, Atlantic City. For more details, call 609-236-2583 or see houseofblues.com

Greek festival in EHT

What Is It: The Greek Festival at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Egg Harbor Township is a popular, annual tradition, and it's that time of year again. The 29th rendition of the festival celebrating all things Greek is this weekend on the church grounds.

What To Expect: This festival makes sure to have something for everybody, much of it with a Greek accent. There's plenty of Greek food, Greek music and Greek dance, of course, but also make sure to check out the carnival rides for the kids - they're fun in any language.

Event Info: The Greek Festival continues 5 to 10 p.m. today, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 6511 Mill Rd., Egg Harbor Township. For more details, call 609-653-8092 or see TheGreekFestival.info

'Urinetown' in Hammonton

What Is It: The Eagle Theatre is an old-time movie house that got rescued from destruction, and now it hosts a lively series of theatrical and musical productions in Hammonton. The Eagle's next major project is the surprisingly witty, and catchy, Broadway musical hit called "Urinetown," which starts a monthlong run tonight.

What To Expect: Don't get put off by the weird title. "Urine-town" is fun, a musical that parodies other musicals - even the sacred Broadway classic "Les Miserables." But it was a hit in its own right, running for almost 1,000 performances on The Great White Way and earning three Tony Awards.

Event Info: Showtime is 8 p.m. today and Saturday, and "Urinetown" plays through June 29 at the Eagle Theatre, 208 Vine St., Hammonton. Tickets are $25 for general admission or $30 for front rows. For tickets or more details, including the full performance schedule, call 609-704-5012 or see
