Disney goes Pops in Ocean City

What Is It: Walt Disney and his entertainment descendants have a long relationship with orchestral music, going back to "Fantasia," the animated classic from 1939 that brought Disney's Mickey Mouse together with Leopold Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Ocean City Pops continues that tradition tonight with a program called "Disney Celebration."

What To Expect: This is a more modern musical version of Disney, featuring the songs of such mega-hit movies as "Beauty and the Beast," "Cinderella," "The Little Mermaid," "The Lion King" and more. The all-professional Pops orchestra will have help in bringing Disney to life from singers Markus Beam, pictured here, and Morgan Kirner.

Event Info: Showtime is 8 p.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier, Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace. Tickets are $10 and $15. For more details, see OceanCityPops.org or call 609-525-9248.
