Take the Plunge in Sea Isle

Latest Video

Just in case you haven't been cold enough this winter, Sea Isle City has an idea for you: Why not jump in the ocean with a few thousand other hardy types - or would that be foolhardy types? Whatever you want to call them, a Polar Bear Plunge on Presidents Day Weekend is a 20-year tradition in Sea Isle, and you can expect to see almost summer-like crowds on the beach and around town today. The event includes a costume contest and lots of live music from day into night at Polar Bear headquarters, the LaCosta complex in the center of the city. All the proceeds benefit citywide events sponsored by the town's Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization.

If You Go: Pre-registration is required. Cost is $25. Costume contest is noon, plungers parade on JFK Boulevard starts 1:15 p.m. and the actual plunge is 2 p.m. on the JFK beach. For more details, see SeaIsleChamber.com or Lacosta-Seaisle.com, or call 609-263-9090.
