Puerto Rican band in A.C. and other events to enjoy At The Shore Today

International Night music,

dance on AC Boardwalk

What Is It: Atlantic City's Kennedy Plaza, between Boardwalk Hall and the beach, hosts a series of music and dance performances this summer from cultures around the world. International Night is sponsored by the city and the Atlantic City Free Public Library, and tonight's installment features Los Pleneros de la 21, a group from Puerto Rico.

What To Expect: Los Pleneros de la 21 have been around since 1983, and are now into their third generation of performers specializing in two styles of Puerto Rican music with African roots, called bomba and plena. And this outfit has gotten noticed in the entertainment world - before the musicians and dancers came to show their stuff on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, they played a little spot in New York called Carnegie Hall.

Event Info: The concert is free. Showtime is 7 to

8:30 p.m. today at Kennedy Plaza, on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. For more details, see acfpl.org
