Red, White and Blueberry Festival
in Hammonton
What Is It: It is our blessed blueberry season, and Hammonton - also known as the Blueberry Capital of the World - always celebrates the season, naturally. The 26th annual Red, White and Blueberry Festival features the blueberry in almost every form known to its fans, plus plenty more fun stuff to do.
What To Expect: Sure, there's a blueberry-pie eating contest in the afternoon. But you can hear live music through the day, and check out strolling entertainers, a classic-car show and lots of food from vendors - not all blueberry-based. But of course there's never any shortage of blueberries at the Red, White and Blueberry Festival.
Event Info: The festival is free, on the grounds of Hammonton High School, at 566 Old Forks Rd., just off Route 30. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the local Kiwanis club also hosts a pancake breakfast in the high-school cafeteria from 7 to 11 a.m., for $6 per person.
