Musical in Hammonton

The rock musical, "Next To Normal" opened on Broadway in April 2009. It won three Tony Awards and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for drama, only the eighth musical in history to receive the honor. The show will be performed today through March 29 at the Eagle Theatre in Hammonton.

"Next To Normal" tells the story of a mother who struggles with bipolar disorder and explores just how far a family will go to keep themselves sane and their world intact. Broadway actress Krissy Fraelich stars as suburban mother Diana Goodman. Fraelich made her Broadway debut in Frank Wildhorn's "The Civil War." Brian Bortnick, above with Fraelich, stars as Diana's husband, Dan. Bortnick is a singer-songwriter and musician, who has played in such Philadelphia venues as the Wachovia Center, the Electric Factory and the Theater of Living Arts.

If You Go: The rock musical will be performed 8 p.m. today and Saturday, March 13 to 15, March 20 to 22, March 26 to 29 and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16 and 23 at the Eagle Theatre, 208 Vine St., Hammonton.
