My mother, Mary Beth McCann, is by far the best mother any teenage girl could wish to have. Aside from working and taking care of all other motherly tasks, she manages to be a friend to me in some of my toughest times. When I feel like the world has turned on me, I always know that my mom is right there by my side to help. Although she admits to saying too much at certain times or being "too nosey," no one gives better words of advice or "two-cent options" than my mom. She also would do anything and everything for me. When the Galloway Township Athletic Association softball program was running down the drain, she picked it up and became the commissioner because she knew I wanted to play softball. When I joined a dance competition team and started taking several classes a week, she began cleaning the dance studio to offset the cost. My mom has always been there for me whether she's backstage at a dance recital or reading and revising my English essay at 11 at night. My mom may not be perfect, but she manages always to come close. - Melissa McCann, Galloway Township
