My Top 5: Teen music acts by Heather DeLuca

Midday host at WSJO-FM 104.9

The new Jonas Brothers CD is set to be released Tuesday.

1. Britney Spears. "The ultimate pop princess may over abuse the art of lip-syncing, but it never overshadows her ability to entertain. ... Her live shows are a pleasant spectacle."

2. Stevie Wonder. "One word - phenomenal. He's possibly the most poignant musical teen since Mozart."

3. Taylor Swift. "The country queen has managed to snag teens and their moms. ... I have much respect for a young girl who fully discloses that if you do her wrong, boyfriend or best friend, she's gonna sing and write about you."

4. 'N Sync. "Actual charm channeled through five singing and dancing guys led by Justin Timberlake. Of all the boy bands, this quintet always felt the most authentic to me."

5. Debbie Gibson. "A prolific penner, she was the youngest teenager to write, produce, arrange and perform a No. 1 Billboard Hit, 1987's 'Foolish Beat.' Rival Tiffany just couldn't measure up."
