Betta fish

Betta fish are native to Southeast Asia, and it is very hot over there. If the temperature goes below 75 degrees in the tank, they fade out. It is hard to adjust the temperature in a fish bowl, but a 5-gallon aquarium with a small filter and heater built in will keep the water clean and warm. That will keep the fish happy and healthy, and the water will not have to be changed every other day.

Smelly dog

When dogs have a chronic odor, continual bathing won't cut it. It's time to make a trip to the vet. When a dog has a chronic odor, it is usually a problem with its teeth, ears, skin or perhaps impacted anal glands. You will not have the answers until the dog is seen by his vet.

Holiday host

Keep in mind that not all guests like being around pets. To make guests feel comfortable, it's a good idea to put the dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits or whatever in their respective cages or in another room. If the birds are making a lot of noise, cover the cages for the time the guests are visiting.

The animals do get a bit puzzled by it all, but when the dinner or party is over, they go right back to their routines and forget about the temporary exile.
