Wine of the week
2007 TAZ Pinot Noir
Santa Barbara County, Calif., continues to dominate as the premier U.S. wine region with wines like this gem from TAZ, which sells for $23. This wine offers intense flavors while still showing a lightness on the palate that distinguishes pinot noir from other red wines.
It brings together flavors of black cherry, earth and herbs and finishes with a breezy acidity. It's perfectly ready to enjoy now, but there's no rush to drink it. It's an excellent blend of California fruit and Burgundian style and can be served with dishes such as roast poultry, grilled tuna and red meat.
