My mother is special because for 36 years she worked at the Hershey Chocolate Corporation so that she could give to her twin girls an excellent Catholic education, which would teach us discipline throughout our lives. She raised us with joy. We never knew we were poor, as we always had everything we always wanted. She grew up knowing hard times and sadness, and was a loving wife and devoted family matriarch. She made many sacrifices for us along the way. She taught us to respect each other and to do the very best that we can do, and taught us that you only reap what you sow. My father passed away in 1991 and my mother was left with the burden to do it all. We are blessed with a wonderful mother who is caring, thoughtful, patient, forgiving, understanding, compassionate, funny, and loving. - Patricia Ann Callinan, Cape May
