Queen of soul

R&B legend Aretha Franklin brings her catalog of hits to the arena in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort on Saturday. The show is one of Franklin's few live performances after having surgery in 2010.

Other acts in town this week include comedian Craig Ferguson, above, in the Showroom at the Tropicana Casino and Resort on Friday, rapper Big Sean at the House of Blues Atlantic City in the Showboat Casino-Hotel on Friday and singer Tony Orlando at the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel on Saturday.

Neeson's revenge

Liam Neeson is back as retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and is out to kill more bad guys in the action picture "Taken 2," which hits theaters Friday.

The film is a sequel to the surprise hit "Taken" from 2008. In the first film, Mills' daughter is kidnapped. In the sequel, his wife is taken hostage.

The other film in wide release Friday is the animated movie "Frankenweenie."

Have a Heart

Ann and Nancy Wilson,of the Seattle rock band Heart, are not only releasing a new CD, "Fanatic," on Tuesday.

They also wrote a book about their lives in music that was released this month titled, "Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll."

Devil's dwelling

In the horror-themed TV series "666 Park Avenue," Terry O'Quinn of "Lost" and former Miss America 1984 Vanessa Williams, above, star as the owners of a posh New York City building with the strange, satanic address.
