Art film in Millville
What Is It: "Civilisation: A Personal View by Kenneth Clark" is a U.K. television documentary that aired in 1970 in the U.S. The film outlines the history of Western philosophy, art and architecture since the Dark Ages. This takes us from the industrial landscape of 19th century England to the skyscrapers of 20th century New York. The achievements of the engineers and scientists - such as Ernest Rutherford and Isambard Kingdom Brunel - having been matched by reformers such as Anthony Ashley-Cooper, Earl of Shaftesbury and William Wilberforce.
