Shatner beams into Atlantic City
Who Is He: He has been Captain Kirk on "Star Trek," T.J. Hooker on that old cop show and Denny Crane on "Boston Legal." So if you don't believe this is William Shatner's world, just ask him: The title of the one-man show he brings to Harrah's Resort tonight is "Shatner's World: We Just Live In It."
What To Expect: Shatner tells some of the story of his life, his career and his characters in this scripted show, which has played everywhere from Broadway to Australia. And you bet Captain Kirk gets into the act - among the star's projects over the years have been documentaries about the making of "Star Trek," and Shatner's part in it.
Event Info: Showtime is 9 p.m. in the Concert Venue at Harrah's Resort, 777 Harrah's Blvd., Atlantic City. Tickets are $55, $75, $105 and $300, available at the box office or at pressofac.com/tickets. For more details, call (609) 441-5000 or see harrahsresort.com
Savor Borgata brings star chefs to A.C.
What Is It: Savor Borgata, now in its fifth year, puts the big-name chefs of six Borgata restaurants all in one place at one time. They include Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, Michael Mina, Stephen Kalt, Geoffrey Zakarian and Michael Schulson, all showing off and talking about items from their menus.
What To Expect: This is foodie heaven - and beverage heaven too. Along with the chance to try specialties from Puck, Flay and the rest of the gang, Borgata expects to have 14 wineries on hand, plus sake and cocktail stations. Prior to Savor Borgata, between noon and 2 p.m. Puck will be available at Wolfgang Puck American Grille for book signings with the purchase of the cookbook "Wolfgang Puck Makes It Easy" for $30. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter.
Event Info: The night officially starts 8 p.m. in the Event Center at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, 1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City. Tickets are $125 per person - or $195 for premium admission, an hour earlier. Tickets are available at the box office or at pressofac.com/tickets. For more details, call 609-317-1000 or see theborgata.com
