Mainland Regional High School’s Alvia Handson scored the only goal of the game in the first half as the Mustangs girls soccer team beat host Millville 1-0 on Wednesday.

The Mustangs (11-1), No. 3 in The Press Elite 11, have won 11 straight games by shutout following an opening-day 2-0 loss to Toms River North.

Mainland’s Angelina Blanchet had two saves, and Millville’s Megan Sooy made eight saves.

Lower Cape May Regional scored four goals in the first half to defeat Wildwood. The Caper Tigers’ Taylor Magill scored two goals, and Chloe Lawler and Tayanis Torres scored one each. Wildwood’s Maddie McCraken scored the only goal for her team in the second half to avoid the shutout.

Eight players for Williamstown scored a goal a piece to shut out Cumberland Regional in girls soccer. Among the goal scorers, Natalie Pantalone had two assists and Morgan Ostermueller, Angela Rosenberger and Amanda Giordano had one assist each. Goalie Kelsey Pastirko had three saves for Cumberland.
