Betty Cantrell has a new hobby now that she has officially given up the tiara: wedding planning.

The 2016 Miss America announced on her instagram page on Monday that she and her boyfriend, Spencer Maxwell, became engaged. 

"And now finally I can say my Fiancé!" Cantrell said in the instagram post. "To the man who let me be Miss America for a year, to the man who is moving to Nashville with me to help me achieve my dreams as a country music singer, to the man who so selflessly lets me shine, to the man who never gave up on me... to the love of my life. Forever and always, your dreams are my dreams. I love you Spinny.”

While she may not have expected to get engaged so soon after he reign, the fact that her boyfriend proposed didn’t seem to come as a surprise to Cantrell, who used the hashtag #finally after her instagram post.

She also posted a picture of the ring that her fiancé bought her.
