The Miss America Organization has announced the judging panel for the three preliminary nights of the 2014 Miss America Competition at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

The seven judges will evaluate contestants on Sept. 10, 11, and 12 in categories including Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit, Evening Wear, Talent, Interview and an On-Stage question. A separate celebrity panel will judge the final competition on Sept. 15. The identities of those judges has not been announced.

The preliminary judges are:

Shirley Cothran Barret: Crowned Miss America in 1975, she has a doctorate degree in education, and is an author and professional speaker.

Richard Dyer: A journalist who spent 25 years as a critic with The Boston Globe, Dyer is currently writing a book on the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

Stephanie George: Former Executive Vice President of Time Inc. and the former President of In Style, Real Simple, Essence and The Parenting Group.

Oscar James: An Emmy Award-winning celebrity hair stylist, James has styled celebrities such as Tyra Banks, Halle Berry, Former Miss America 1984 Vanessa Williams, and Beyoncé.

Karl Jurman: Musical director and conductor of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical The Lion King.

Cori Wellins: A television literary agent who represents a broad array of producers, writers, show runners and talent.

Nita Whitaker: A former Miss Louisiana, Whitaker is a singer who has performed with Andrea Bocelli Josh Groban, Michael Buble and Chris Botti.
