McCoy is one of the state’s top high school pitchers. The left hander was 4-2 with a 0.71 ERA. The Milwaukee Brewers drafted him in the 26th round of this year’s Major League First Year Player Draft. But McCoy plans to attend Wake Forest on a baseball scholarship.

He also quarterbacked the Bengals to a 7-4 record the Shore Conference B South title and the South Jersey Group II semifinals. McCoy threw for 1,768 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was a second-team Press All-Star in football.
