Middle Township High School's Ryan Herlihy and Alex Walsh took first place in the boys and girls Big 5 cross country meet at Cape May County Park on Friday.

Herlihy finished in 16 minutes, 42 seconds for the boys and Walsh crossed the finish line in 19:47.

The Middle Township boys won the meet with a team total of 32. Cape May Tech took second with 52 and Lower Cape May Regional finished third (59).

The Wildwood Catholic girls team took the title with 28. Middle Township had 33 points for second and Cape May Tech finished third overall with 59.

Cape May Tech's Josh Greenberg came in second (17:04) and Wildwood's Trevor Gentek finished six seconds after him for third.

For the girls, Wildwood Catholic's Emily Johnson took a close second (19:57) and teammate Grace Lederer came in third (21:04).
