Lacey Township beat Toms River South 42-20 on Sept. 29.

The two meet again at 1 p.m. today at Lacey in a South Jersey Group IV quarterfinal.

Both teams have changed since their first meeting.

Lacey junior quarterback Tom Kelly (14 touchdown passes) broke his collarbone in a 45-28 win over Jackson Memorial on Oct. 20. But sophomore quarterback Conor Davies has stepped in and continued Lacey's winning ways.

He completed 12-of-15 passes for 145 yards and threw three touchdowns in a 45-0 win over Brick Memorial last Saturday. Lacey is No. 3 in The Press Elite 11.

Meanwhile, Toms River South has matured into a winning team since the first meeting. South was 1-3 after the Lacey loss but then won three in a row before last week's 24-10 loss to Toms River North.

Key players for Toms River South: Otis Kearney, RB/DB; Tymere Berry, QB; Khaleel Greene, RB; Darrius Hart, WR/DB.

Key players for Lacey Township: Conor Davies, QB, 32-of-40 for 358 yards and six touchdowns; Kyle Spatz, RB/DB, 138 carries for 1,014 yards and 12 touchdowns; Bill Belford, WR, 27 catches for 427 yards and nine touchdowns; Liam Dolly, LB/K, 62 tackles and two field goals; Brandon Boos,WR/DB, four interceptions; Casey Sirotniak, LB, 64 tackles.

Keys to victory: Lacey knows about South's young talented skill-position players. The Lions only led the first matchup 21-20 at halftime. Lacey will try to control the ball with the running of Spatz and combine that with timely passing from Davies.
