Cedar Creek High School football quarterback Damon Mitchell Jr. quickly overcame an early mistake and led the unbeaten Pirates to a win over Pleasantville.
Mitchell passed for three touchdowns, including one to younger brother Ahmir Mitchell, and ran for two more.
Cedar Creek took control with three first-quarter touchdowns following a Pleasantville interception for a score that put the Greyhounds up 6-0.
The first touchdown of the game came when Pleasantville cornerback Ronnell Moore picked off a Damon Mitchell pass and ran 60 yards for a touchdown.
The Pirates responded with a good march that ended when Mitchell tossed a 3-yard TD pass to wide receiver Nolan Seward. The kick failed and it was 6-6.
Cedar Creek fullback Mike Carter put his team up for good with a 2-yard touchdown.
