Wildwood High School junior girls basketball player Jessica Freeman hit two foul shots with 3 minutes, 52 seconds left in the first quarter to pass the 1,000 career-point mark in a 52-25 win over visiting Clayton on Tuesday in a Tri-County Conference game.

Freeman, who needed seven points prior to the game, scored 15 points to give her 1,008 for her career. She is the seventh player in Wildwood girls basketball history to reach the milestone.

"It felt great to actually accomplish what I've worked so hard on my whole life," the 17-year old North Wildwood resident said by phone Tuesday. "My family came from Delaware and everyone was there to support me. It felt great getting it at home.

"I'm the third person in Wildwood history to get 1,000 points as a junior, and knowing I have another year to improve more and more, is just great."

Freeman also collected 11 rebounds as the Warriors earned their fifth straight victory.

Serena Seijo led Wildwood (10-5) with 18 points.
