NJSIAA unofficially releases boys swimming playoff brackets

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association announced the boys and girls swimming playoff pairings on Monday.

The pairing will become official noon on Tuesday.

Here are the pairings involving local boys teams:

South, Public B seeds

1-Moorestown, 2-Haddonfield, 3-Mainland Regional, 4-Ocean City, 5-Manasquan/Pt. Beach, 6-Central Regional, 7-Jackson Liberty, 8-Oakcrest.

Therefore, No. 3 Mainland Regional will host No. 6 Central Regional; No. 4 Ocean City will host No. 5 Manasquan/Pt.Beach and No. 8 Oakcrest will travel to No. 1 Moorestown.

Mainland is No. 5 in The Press Elite 11, Moorestown is No. 3 and Haddonfield in No. 6.

South Non Public B seeds

1-Pingry, 2-Msgr. Donovan, 3-Gloucester Catholic, 4-Holy Spirit, 5-Bishop Eustace

Since there are only five teams in this sectional, the top three teams get a bye. No. 4 Holy Spirit will host No. 5 Bishop Eustace and then face No. 1 Pingry. Gloucester Catholic is No. 11 in the Elite 11.

South, Public Group A seeds

1-Cherry Hill East, 2-Shawnee, 3-Vineland, 4-Egg Harbor Township, 5-Washington Township, 6-Atlantic City, 7-Clearview Regional, 8-Sterling

This sets up an interesting first-round matchup between No. 3 Vineland and No. 6 Atlantic City. No. 4 Egg Harbor Township will host No. 5 Washington Township.

Vineland in No. 7 in the Elite 11, Egg Harbor Township is No. 10, Cherry Hill East is No. 8, Shawnee is No. 4.

South Non-Public A seeds

1-Christian Brothers Academy, 2-St. Augustine Prep, 3-St. Joseph (Met.), 4-Notre Dame, 5-Camden Catholic, 6-Red Bank Catholic.

Only six teams in the group, so No. 2 St. Augustine and No. 1 CBA get byes to the semifinals. CBA, No. 1 in the Elite 11, will face the winner of Notre Dame vs. Camden Catholic. St. Augustine, No. 2 in the Elite 11, will face the winner of St. Joseph Metuchen and Red Bank Catholic.
