Boys soccer roundup: No. 6 Middle Township defeats Ocean City
Middle Township High School’s Jacob Cowan scored his 18th goal of the season and had two assists as the Panthers boys soccer team beat host Ocean City 3-1 on Saturday.
Middle’s Elijah Broadnax scored the first goal 29 minutes into the game, and Cowan assisted. Cowan made it 2-0 two minutes later, and Adam Vaul assisted.
Middle (10-1), ranked ranked sixth in The Press Elite 11, added an insurance goal by David Hicks at the right post with 10 minutes left in the game. Cowan had sent a pass from the left side. Ocean City’s Essam Hafiz scored with six minutes left, and Noah Spear assisted.
Middle’s Steven Hand and Tanner Kerr combined on 10 saves.
