Wrestling roundup: Holy Spirit's Pat D'Arcy still alive for Beast of the East title
Only Holy Spirit sophomore Pat D'Arcy remains in the hunt for a title after day one of the grueling two-day Beast of the East Tournament at the University of Delaware in Newark.
D'Arcy opened his debut at the tournament with a 34-second pin in his first match and followed that up with a 33-second pin in his second.
The No. 6 seed at 106 pounds advanced to today's quarterfinals with a 3-1 decision in the pre-quarters. D'Arcy will face No. 3 seed Jose Rodriguez of national powerhouse Perry (Ohio).
Southern Regional, Buena Regional and three wrestlers from Holy Spirit each traveled to the tournament.
