Hammonton’s Louis Corgliano places 17th at Meet of Champions

Hammonton High School junior Louis Corgliano topped local competitors at the Cross Country Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park on Wednesday with a 17th-place finish.

Corgliano completed the 5,000-meter race in 16 minutes, 7 seconds. Thomas O’Neill from Middle-town North won in 15:31.

Matthew Nelson, a Barnegat senior, placed 20th (16:15).

Pinelands Regional sophomore Lauren Zodl was the top finisher amongst local girls, coming in 44th place in 19:30. High Point senior Sarah Disanza won in 17:47.

Abby Shafer from Egg Harbor Township placed 63rd (19:47) and Mary Kate Brelsford from Ocean City was 67th (19:55). Ocean City sophomores Epiphany Gris-baum, Erin Myers, Madeline Brady and Rachel Stremme were 76th (20:06), 100th (20:33), 130th (21:17) and 146th (21:44), respectively.

Bridget Flynn, an Ocean City junior, placed 135th in 21:35, while senior Theresa Solazzo was 156th in 22:15.

The Red Raiders finished 14th in the team scoring with 328 points. Vorhees won with 74 points.
